Kelly Rook (Principal)

My initial passion was dance. I first started practicing Pilates in 1995. Pilates became an integral part of my intensive dance training and provided rehabilitation through a knee injury. I have been teaching pilates for 10 years, in sports and leisure centres in Berkshire and Oxfordshire. I completed my initial apprenticeship training in 2000.

Pilates of Berkshire began in 2001 where I opened my first Pilates studio within a physiotherapy centre in Binfield. Working in partnership with physiotherapists extended my rehabilitation skills and broadened my knowledge in this field.

My current qualifications are:

  • BA (Hons) Dance
  • Mat and Studio Certification with Alan Herdman Studios and The Oxford School of Pilates
  • Polestar Pilates Studio Certification
  • Level 3 Pilates Advanced Instructor status with the Register of Exercise Professionals
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Member of the Pilates Method Alliance
  • Certified Instructor with the Pilates Method Alliance.

I complete yearly training courses in the UK and internationally only of the highest quality, to extend and improve my knowledge and skills in this field. I have been fortunate enough to see many first generation Pilates teachers at work (trained by Joseph Pilates) to get a sense of how Pilates intended his work to be taught.

Testimonials

Here's what some of our clients are saying.

"Quite simply, Pilates of Berkshire has given my body back its flexibility, agility and strength."

"My individually tailored programme on the Pilates equipment has enabled me to do movements that I never thought I would be able to do after my back operation in 1999 and car crash in 2003."

"My family and friends are amazed at how flexible and strong I now am. I never would have imagined myself being able to perform some of the movements that I now do at Pilates."
